SPOILER WARNING: If you want to play these games yourself, I do not recommend reading this page. I will be going in depth with several different aspects of the game.
Malice in Wonderland
McQueen and Dooley have been sent to Jones family residence to investigate the disappearance of their daughter, Alice. Even though she was under the care of her nanny, seven-year-old Alice has been already been missing for a day, but there has been no sign of her ever leaving the house.
Characters and the Story
When inside the house, you can find three other people with you: Roy Jones, Ann Jones, and Nanny McPhiend.
Roy Jones is the first person in the house you will encounter. He is sitting in the main living area when you enter the house. Roy is the father of Alice, however, he does not care for her often. When you click on the ashtray next to him, he tells McQueen that he is hardly around Alice. He mentions that he does not talk to her because she has "a limited conversation pool." Instead, he leaves the nanny to deal with Alice. Not complying at first, Roy finally gives in and tells McQueen that he wasn't in the house last night. He was out at "Busty Belle's Booty Boutique".
Depending on where you move throughout the house, Ann Jones might be the next person you come across. Ann is the mother of Alice. When you find her, she is sitting on Alice's bed and sobbing with tissue in hand. You can't get much information out of her. Anytime you try to talk to her, she starts talking about how her "baby is gone" and how McQueen and Dooley need to find Alice.
When you enter the master bedroom, you are greeted with the final person in the house: Nanny McPhiend. She is the caretaker of Alice, and as her name suggests, she is not an innocent person in this case. Just like Roy, McPhiend is not a big fan of Alice. She mentions that Alice is spoiled and "sticks her nose where it doesn't belong." Sarcastically, she says that she has worked with the Joneses long enough to "harbour no ill will whatsoever." Sitting right under the foot of the bed is a suspicious lump. When McQueen notices it, she tries to convince him that nothing is there. What you pick up is a strange page with patterns on it. McQueen mentions that it is a page from the 'Occult for Dummies' book.
The Ending
As you move throughout the house, you are able to collect objects that will help you throughout the case. The strange page from McPhiend is just one of them. The others include a blacklight bulb from the closet, a lantern from the study, a set of matches from Roy, and a blacklight marker from Alice's pen set in her bedroom. These items will help you when you ascend into the attic.
When you enter the attic, you are greeted with a normal looking attic with random items of storage scattered around. There is a desk lamp on the floor, paint cans and thinner on the shelf, and a few boxes of miscellaneous stuff strewn about. This is where you can start to use some of the stuff in your inventory. Using the blacklight bulb you could've picked up earlier, you are able to screw it into the desk lamp that is currently plugged into the wall.
When you screw in the bulb, an unfinished, glowing purple portal appears on the wall. Your next step is to use the strange page and the blacklight marker to draw the missing symbols. The portal will open, and you have to traverse into the portal to continue the case. Dooley doesn't want anything to do with the "creep-fest", so he decides to keep watch ouside. You have to take the lantern and go in alone.
Entering the portal takes you into the Darkside. The Darkside attic almost the same as the Brightside, the world in which you live in. The only differences are the blue lighting and the flipped placement of the storage. The case finally starts coming to an end because Alice is waiting by the portal. Before the two of you are able to leave, a huge crash can be heard coming from the Brightside.
Appearing from the darkness, Nanny McPhiend is revealed to be the one behind the disappearance of Alice, as if the name didn't give it away enough. She snarks that Alice got in the way of trapping Roy and Ann. McQueen immediately asks about Dooley, and she says that she knocked him out. McPhiend decides to trap you and Dooley in the Darkside instead. She makes you and Alice to exit the portal to drag Dooley in. However, she makes a grave mistake in not exititng the portal too because you are able to use the paint thinner to smudge and erase the symbols outlining the portal, ultimately closing it off for good.
Tome Alone
McQueen arrives to the library expecting to solve a case, but Dooley corrects him by saying that he has to return some overdue books. McQueen sarcastically questions that the "swirling vortex" above the building has nothing to do with the case. Dooley finally gives in to investigate, and you are now able to enter the library.
